Sergey Lazarev-London Club Remixes, Part 1 (2008)

ORIGINAL POSTING DATE: December 31, 2010

Let's keep the 'electrifying' Sergey Lazarev TV show up and running for a little while! Interesting that his "Electric Touch" album concludes with the track entitled "Лондон, гудбай", which translates to "London, Goodbye". It reminded me that I had his 2008 remix compilation album called "London Club Remixes".....well, half of it anyway. I received Part 1 via air mail from my Russian friend Oleg; the second part is still out there. Both CDs are needed to hear the two exclusive tracks that aren't found on his other three solo albums: "The Flyer" from Part 1 and "Зачем Придумали Любовь?!" (which roughly means, "Why Invent Love?!", I think) from Part 2. But for now, at least you'll get to enjoy "The Flyer"--another great, high-octane dance hit with a pulsating bass line--plus several techno remakes of three of the best dance hits from the "TV Show" album: "Girlfriend", "TV Or Radio" and "Everytime". I noted that one of the "Girlfriend" remixes is credited by Leonid Rudenko--a Russian DJ/producer whose awesome trance album I've previously featured here and someone I've had a growing interest in:

1. The Flyer
2. Girlfriend [Metro Mix]
3. Girlfriend [Bizz Junkies Club Mix]
3. Girlfriend [Leonid Rudenko Remix]
4. Girlfriend [SecondSkin Indahouse Remix]
5. Girlfriend [Niteryders Electro Mix]
7. TV Or Radio [Musicpeople New Version]
8. TV Or Radio [Leonid Rudenko Remix]
9. TV Or Radio [SecondSkin Light Electro Mix]
10. Everytime [Buzz Junkies Club Mix]
11. Everytime [Riffs & Rays Club Mix]
12. Everytime [Metro Mix]
13. Everytime [HarDrum Remix]

Sergey Lazarev-Electric Touch (2010)

ORIGINAL POSTING DATE: December 31, 2010

I'm closing out this 2010 year of music-blogging in an 'electrifying' fashion with a few fireworks of my own, beginning with Sergey Lazarev's latest album, "Electric Touch". Judging from the title, I knew it was gonna be an awesome dance album filled with electro-pop.....and I was right! That 'TV show' I mentioned from the previous post? Well, it's still broadcasting, and I'm gonna be tuning in for more reruns in 2011. I just listened to it this evening, and I was totally blown away with the explosively-great sound. All of the songs are fabulous, and most of them sharing an 'electronic' theme: the opening jam, "Alarm", the title track (I like how it ends with the warped, 'drowned-out' voice effect), "Slow Mo" (as in 'slow motion' playback on the VCR or the DVD player, and it has that same 'drowned-out' voice effect at the end), "Lazerboy" and especially "Stereo", which is like the 2010 techno remake of Donna Summer's "On The Radio", and even mentions 'radio' and some other fun bits for the technologically savvy in the lyrics, like MP3, CD, iBook, iPhone and Facebook (although I personally neither have nor know anything about the latter three). My favorites are "She Said", "Sexy Automatic", "Feelin' High" (love how this one starts out faded and distant and grows to a rising crescendo before bursting into an electro-disco frenzy) and the Russian track "Найди Меня", which curiously mentions 'Lazerboy' in the lyrics like in Track #7 but literally translates to "Find Me". And there's a another cool surprise for the 80's aficionados awaiting on Track #17's "Весь мой мир"; listen to the beat, and you'll soon realize that you're hearing a Russian cover of A-HA's "Take On Me":

1. Alarm
2. Electric Touch
3. Money On Love
4. She Said
5. Slow Mo
6. Emotions
7. Lazerboy [feat. Тимати]
8. She Is
9. Sexy Automatic
10. Heartbeat
11. Stereo [HarDrum Version]
12. Найди Меня
13. Instantly
14. Feelin' High
15. Понарошку
16. Где ты
17. Весь мой мир
18. Лондон, гудбай
