Staying in the 80's with another requested rarity, now I present "Electric Splash" by the Canadian singer, Belinda Metz. This one seems to have been in high demand, so naturally I was curious why—another lost pop gem from the 80's that I missed out on? I had originally came across a copy of "Electric Splash" a few months ago, but it was in poor quality and, thus, not very enjoyable. But thanks to my good buddy Oleg, I've managed to get a high-quality version in 320kbps (which is what I always try to shoot for and rip most of my CDs in that format), and I would like to share it for everyone who visits "The Music Spectrum". As soon as you hear the very first track, "What About Me?", you'll get that splash of something electric sure enough. Right away, I was loving Belinda's vocals and the rockin' pop sound. I had read somewhere that it was Belinda's most memorable hit, but I wasn't ready to make the same determination until I heard the other eight songs. Turns out that everything on this album rocks; it's not just a splash, it's a tidal wave, and once you're swept by the currents of "What About Me?", you'll be washed away by other great hits like "You R Me", "Subway Dances", "Crack The Whip" or the power ballad, "No Fear". I have yet to figure out what it is—maybe there's something in the water up there in Canada—but these Canadians can really make some excellent music:
1. What About Me?
2. Falling (The Sudden Time Of Love)
3. You R Me
4. Heavy Heart
5. The Reason
6. Subway Dances
7. Let's Pretend
8. No Fear
9. Crack The Whip
